The Art of Queer Love: an open mic for LGBTQIA+ people
TRACTION presents THE ART OF QUEER LOVE, a virtual open mic for our friends across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. Join host Kalisto Nanen on Tuesday, February 23rd for an evening of adventure, tenderness, and hope --- featuring you!
For February, we are celebrating the depth of love in all the ways, whether its love of self, love of body, or even love of the world around you. This love doesn’t have to be love between you and family member or another person. It doesn’t have to be physical or romantic, either. It can be however you define it, as long as its queer and as long it is your heart. All types of performances (including painting, drag, song, poetry, storytelling, spoken word, building legos, etc!) are welcome!
Want to sign-up to perform? Visit bit.ly/queerlove21. All performers will receive a small honorarium for their time.

Join TRACTION for a virtual 2021 State of the Trans "Union" with friends from Lavender Rights Project, UTOPIA, Gender Justice League, and Pizza Klatch!Executive Directors Tobi Hill-Meyer, Jaelynn Scott, Jay Banks, and Operations Manager Donato Fatuesi will be gathering for a lively conversation about where the trans, non-binary, and two spirit community is currently at and where we are headed in 2021. Live ASL will be provided!

Trans
We are focused on the trans community, which includes transgender, two-spirit, nonbinary, questioning, agender, and the many other names we use to define our gender identity. We are also allies, friends, and family members who desire to help everyone with the mission of embracing gender authenticity.
Community
Part of being a community is taking some time to hang out, relax, and have fun. This is where our summit events come into play. Summits provide an opportunity to meet each other, learn from each other, and have fun with each other. Together our voices are amplified, and together we can empower the voices of other transgender and nonbinary people. At a summit, we can come together, experience the richness of our community, and let our voices ring out!
Action
To make the world a better place, we cannot sit around and hope someone else will make it better for us. Our goal is cultivate a body of members eager to collaborate with other organizations and offer our volunteer power to assist underserved populations. In doing this, we increase trans visibility within the broader community while helping those in need.
