Community Bonfire 2024
Burning Bright: Music for Nex
This event is dedicated to the memory of Nex Benedict, a nonbinary, Choctaw teen in Oklahoma who was beaten by three girls in their high school’s bathroom and died the following day.
We are honored to welcome special guests from the Trans Advocacy Coalition of Oklahoma (TACO), Tulsa Two-Spirit, and others to discuss how the local trans+ and indigenous communities in Oklahoma are responding to Nex’s death.
We’ll be featuring musical performances by talented trans artists STANCE, Apollo Flowerchild, Black Magic (feat. Michael Woodward), Eve Parker Finley, Heather Hills, KHX06, Lena Grey, SuperKnova, Taylor Alxndr, and Marx Cassity.
Community Campfire: 2022 and Beyond
A virtual gathering for trans, Two-spirit, nonbinary, and all gender-diverse people, friends, families, and allies including music from artists Namoli Brennet and Mya Byrne and featuring a conversation with Washington Secretary of Health Dr. Umair A. Shah about public health, COVID-19, and gender-diverse people in Washington.
