Transgender Day of Remembrance Brunch 2023

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is a day nationally recognized on November 20th every year to remember transgender victims we’ve lost throughout the year due to murder, suicide, or abuse. Transgender people are murdered at a wildly disproportionate rate, much higher than any other community of people.

The majority of the victims are Black and Brown. Every year the number rises as Trans and Non-Binary people have lost their lives to violence for no other reason than being who they are. We say “at least” because countless victims go unnamed and misgendered by law enforcement and media. As hard as this time of year is for most of us, locally, we come together each year to remember both the victims of violence.
