TRACTION Action Comix & Reels: COVID-19 Edition
Fall 2020 - Summer 2022
At the onset of the pandemic, TRACTION received funding from the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) to provide trans communities with information from trusted sources about COVID-19 (masking, vaccines, treatments, etc.). We partnered with trans+ artists as well as health care providers, DOH, and CDC to convey accurate and up-to-date pandemic information using digital communication, social media, and online forums. In one of our Community Campfire events, we interviewed Washington Secretary of Health Dr. Umair Shah about the department’s work to reach underserved populations like ours. This digital campaign was quite popular, and we received a Certificate of Recognition from DOH and additional opportunities to partner with them.
The campaign grew into TRACTION Action Comix & Reels. Check out some of what we did for COVID-19!
